Headlamp Testing

Lighting products are used frequently in our daily outdoor life, especially LED headlamps, which are used in a wide range of applications. Headlamp is especially suitable for outdoor lighting at night in various industries, like agricultural picking, industrial lighting, mining operations, fishing operations, mountaineering, caving, hunting and fishing, and so on.

Because of the wide range of applications in the real environment, leading consumers to pay particular attention to the reliability in the selection and purchase of outdoor headlamps. The reliability test of the headlamp refers to the ability test of headlamp to complete the specified function under the specified conditions and within the specified time. That is, outdoor lighting headlamp in the design and application process, continue to withstand the impact of external climate environment and mechanical environment, need to ensure that they can work normally. 1.Why do we use the spectrometer and integrating sphere on the detection?

The brightness of the outdoor headlamp determines its range of use and environment. For outdoor activities such as field orientation and camping, high-brightness lithium battery headlamp  are needed; For indoor activities such as daily reading and maintenance, there is no need for such high brightness. Therefore, before choosing the suitable headlamp, it is necessary to determine the required brightness range according to different scenes. To confirm the brightness, the factory needs to use the spectrometer and integrating sphere to confirm.

2.The working principle

A spectrometer is an instrument that measures the spectral distribution emitted or transmitted by an object through the splitting, dispersion and detection of light. When the beam passes through the sample, the sample absorbs a certain wavelength of light, and a response signal appears at the detector. Spectrometers rely on the principle of light dispersion to separate the different wavelengths of light in the beam, so as to measure the absorption spectrum of the sample.

The integrating sphere changes the direction of the light emitted by the sample in a way that is fully reflected, so that it is fully mixed in order to measure its "mean" spectrum. A substance is placed at the bottom of the bus in the integrating sphere that emits the received light completely evenly in all directions, thus reliably mixing and detecting the light emitted by the sample.

3.The advantages of headlamp detection

Lumen measurements are more reliable when using an integrating sphere, which reduces and removes measurement errors caused by the shape of the light, the divergence Angle, and the difference in response at different locations on the detector. The integration sphere is matched with the spectrometer, and the optical output hole of the integration sphere is connected to the incident port of the spectrometer through optical fiber, which greatly improves the measurement   reproducibility.

Those two complements ensure that the LED adjustable Rechargeable Headlamplamp, unlike ordinary headlamps, is accompanied by the use of brightness reduction, but the use of the corresponding detection instrument to ensure that the constant lighting technology headlamp shows better performance, can remain the same brightness during using, and provides a good view for outdoor work or sports.

2.Rain Spray Test Chamber

1.Why do we use the rain test chamber on the headlamp detection?

In the outdoor hiking or climbing, often choose waterproof recharging headlamps, if the quality is not good, water will produce fog. Therefore water resistance is very important. Generally, what we see is IPX4, and the larger the number, the better the waterproof performance. The Rain Spray Test Chamber can simulate the real rain environment, through the rain test of the waterproof headlamp, the waterproof and sealing performance of the camping headlamp is evaluated to ensure its reliability and durability in a wet or rainy environment.

2.The working principle

The working principle of the rain test box is to spray the water to the tested product through the sprinkler after filtration, pressure, temperature control, etc., to simulate different rainfall intensity and working conditions, in order to detect the product's working performance and protection level in a humid environment. The rain test chamber will generally set different test modes according to industry standards, such as IPX1 to IPX9 and other different levels of protection level testing. During the test, the tested product is placed inside the equipment, and the sprinkler sprays water on the tested product to detect whether there is leakage, short circuit and other phenomena in how long the equipment.

3.Constant temperature and humidity test chamber

1.Why do we use the constant temperature and humidity test chamber on the headlamp detection?

Outdoor headlamps are often easier to face extreme situations, therefore, manufacturers will especially consider the performance and adaptability of rechargeable headlamps to extreme environments on the material before leaving the factory. The constant temperature and humidity test chamber can simulate different environmental conditions according to needs, such as high temperature and high humidity, low temperature and low humidity and other harsh environmental conditions, in order to test the performance and adaptability of LED headlamps in different environments.

2.Temperature control principle/humidity control principle

The temperature control system is composed of temperature sensor, controller and heating device. The temperature sensor is used to detect the temperature in the test box in real time and transmit the detected temperature signal to the controller. According to the difference between the set temperature value and the actual temperature value, the controller adjusts the temperature in the test chamber by controlling the working state of the heating device.

Humidity control system is mainly composed of humidity sensor, controller and humidity regulating device. The humidity sensor is used to detect the humidity in the test chamber in real time and transmit the detected humidity signal to the controller. According to the difference between the set humidity value and the actual humidity value, the controller adjusts the humidity in the test chamber by controlling the working state of the humidity regulator.

4.UV aging Test Box

1.Why do we use the UV aging test box on the headlamp detection?

Due to outdoor activities, highland headlamps often encounter direct sunlight, resulting in UV damage to the performance and appearance. The UV aging test chamber is an aging test equipment that simulates light, and is specially designed to simulate products placed outdoors for a long time. It only takes a few days or weeks to simulate the damage caused by UV rays in the sun on outdoor lighting headlamps, and the device can reproduce the damage caused by outdoor months or years.

2.The working principle

The UV radiation is generated by the ultraviolet lamp tube, and the measured material is placed in the radiation area, and the aging situation under different environmental conditions is simulated by controlling the radiation intensity, temperature, humidity and time. Ultraviolet radiation is mainly divided into UVA, UVB and UVC three bands, of which UVA and UVB are the main components of solar UV.
